CPD Sponsors and ProvidersThe recently enacted CPD rules place significant responsibility on pre-approved sponsor/providers to offer and approve acceptable CPD activities. These pre-approved sponsor/providers include:
Per Section 3103 the Board may approve additional Sponsors/Providers; however, the Board urges all interested parties to contact one of the pre-approved sponsors through which they could coordinate and sponsor their programs. The pre-approved sponsors would allow greater visibility within the engineering and surveying communities. It is anticipated that these sponsors will be offering a CPD web site to advertise available CPD activities. You may claim non-sponsored or unapproved activities; however, you must insure that you maintain documentation adequate to substantiate the contents of such activities. Be careful about video, web, or correspondence courses. Read the FAQ first
All sponsors/providers must conduct courses and activities which are technical in nature or addresses business management practices, professional ethics, quality assurance, codes or similar topics which enhance professional development or which serve to safeguard life, health, property and promote the public welfare. Failure to do so will be grounds for the board to revoke its approval of a sponsor/provider. Sponsors/providers should provide attendees documentation adequate to meet the audit requirements of the Board. At a minimum, the attendees should receive a document that clearly states a course/activity title, a description of the activity, the name of the presenter, the date a location of the presentation, and the number of PDH earned. The application to be a Board-approved Sponsor/Provider of CPD activities is available in Microsoft Word (DOC) format. Download the document and by clicking on the link above, complete the form and submit it to the Board for approval. |
